THE PARTNERSHIP
40 Years in the Making

In May 1986, the United States and Canada signed the North American Waterfowl Management Plan — a landmark commitment to continental waterfowl and wetland conservation. México joined the partnership in 1994. In 2026, NAWMP celebrates 40 years of science, collaboration, and on-the-ground conservation delivered through thousands of projects across North America.

The 40th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate NAWMP's achievements, strengthen partnerships, and build momentum for the work ahead — inspiring hunters, birders, outdoor recreationists, and the public to champion conservation policy and funding for decades to come.
