The North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP) Communication Committee provides leadership in advancing awareness of waterfowl and wetland conservation across North America. The Committee coordinates communication among NAWMP committees, working groups, and partners, and supports the Plan Committee in its role as the international voice for waterfowl and wetland conservation. From Strategy to Storytelling
From hunters and birders to federal agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the Communication Committee ensures that everyone who benefits from wetland conservation understands what NAWMP makes possible. Impact & Initiatives
Recent Work
The Committee produced a Marketing Assets Report in 2022 and followed up with a Marketing Plan and NAWMP Brand Guide in 2025. Recent initiatives include the redevelopment of NAWMP.org, the NAWMP 40th Anniversary communication plan and celebration event held in March 2026, and the development of NAWMP pop-up display banners available for use by Joint Ventures and other partners at local events.
Looking ahead, the Committee is developing a NAWMP Communications Network — a shared platform to coordinate strategic communications across the NAWMP partnership, building on the communications work already underway among partner organizations.
